2007: Named Most Valuale Field athlete for the team in 2007...Won the All-Ohio title in the shot put both indoors and outdoors (for the second year in a row outdoors)...Won the shot and the weight throw at the BGSU Quad...Second in the shot at the BGSU Open...Second in the shot and the weight throw at the CMU Tri-Meet...Won the shot at the Toledo Challenge....Finished third in the shot and sixth in the hammer at the Brutus Hamilton Invite...Won the shot put at the Toledo Invite. 2006: TaKarra Dunning had a breakthrough season in 2006, setting many personal-records. Indoors she finished second at the All-Ohio Championships with a toss of 46-04.00, an indoor personal-best, behind teammate Paris Bussey. Outdoors she qualified for NCAA Regionals outdoors at the All-Ohio Championships where she beat the indoor MAC champion in the shot put and set a personal-best of 48-06.00. She also won the Toledo Invite in the shot put with a toss of 45-11.75. She set personal-bests in the discus with a toss of 128-02 as well as in the hammer throw, with a distance of 136-07. High School: Dunning was a Class-A shot put state champion in 2002, 2004, & 2005, a 4 time shot-put Conference Champion, two time Regional champion in shot put, a Regional champion in the discus in 2005, and a third place in discus at the 2005 state meet. She was awarded with the 2005 Outstanding Athlete Award, All-State Academic Track and Field 2004. She also earned numerous honors as a varsity basketball player, Academic High Honors Award winner, Class Council Member, National Honor Society member, nomination for National Honor Roll, Who's Who Among American High School Students, and a member of K-Club.
