Susan Sargent enters her second season as an assistant coach with the Falcon softball program. Sargent, a native of Logan, Ohio, works with the outfielders, designs conditioning and agility workouts for the team, and performs a myriad of duties in the softball office.

In her first season on the staff, Sargent helped the 2006 Falcons of head coach Leigh Ross post a 37-win campaign, tying the school record for victories. The Brown and Orange went 37-23 overall, and finished 16-6 in the MAC, good for a second-place finish in the East Division, just a half-game out of first.

Sargent was a four-year starter at nearby Ohio Northern University, helping that team to a national ranking of 19th in 2003. The following year, the centerfielder helped the team to a berth in the Ohio Athletic Conference for the first time in six seasons.

Sargent had a batting average of .409 in OAC play during her freshman year. As a senior in 2004, she led the team with a .317 average in all games, and was named to the OAC All-Tournament Team.

In the summer of 2003, Sargent worked at the Queensland Softball Association in Brisbane, Australia. In July of that year, she was named an assistant coach for the New South Wales All-Star Team.

Sargent, a 2000 graduate of Logan H.S., earned her degree in sport management from ONU in 2004. She graduated from BGSU in December of 2005, with a master's degree in sport administration.
