Dear Dawley family, We heard of the loss of your beautiful daughter as we attended the BGSU-NIU football game. Though we do not know you, we wanted to express our sorrow for your great loss.

Though you may have many mixed feelings now, please know that God loves you, and He wants to help you get through this very difficult thing. We will pray for you to receive comfort and strength.

Dear Dawley family and Bowling Green teammates:

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your daughter and beloved friend and teammate. I play soccer at Illinois State University and as a collegiate athlete I wanted to extend my prayers and sympathy to Leslie's family and friends. The bond between teammates is irreplaceable and only time will capture the memories you have all shared together. Once again I am sorry to hear about your loss. Never forget as she watches from above and protects those close to her heart.

Sincerely,
Cheryl Sarnwick

I was priveledged to know Leslie, not very well, but through the sport that she loved. I have played against her for as long as I can remember and through this time I have known her as a beautiful, talented, and hard working person. Through her roommate at BG, Megan Rapp, I was able to get to know her better indirectly. Megan is my best friend and over the past few months, she has had nothing but good things to say about Leslie. I have heard all about the goodtimes they shared and most of all I have heard about what a good friend she has been to Meg. I will always be thankful to Leslie for taking such good care of Meg for me. I have not stopped thinking and praying for the Dawley family, the BGSU community, her teammates, friends, and especially you Meg. My prayers are with you all. Through our memories Leslie will live on forever.

God Bless,
Meghan (DePaul Women's Soccer)

There are many things that we (Kreischer-Ashley 2nd Floor) will remember about Leslie. You could always expect to see her sitting in the hall talking on her cell phone almost every night. She will be missed greatly and she will never be forgotten. We love you Leslie and Miss You Lots.

May God bless Leslie as well as her family, friends, teammates, coaches, and the entire Bowling Green community. Although I never knew Leslie, I felt like I lost a friend when I heard of this tragedy. I am sure I share the rest of the BGSU community's thoughts when I say "God Bless you, Leslie." You will truly be missed. May God accept you with His warmth and love, and fill your family and friends with strength and togetherness during this difficult time of grief and healing.

Mr. & Mrs. Dawley,
I am a member of the San Jose State University football team, but due to a couple of problems I had to sit out this season, so I have had some time to sit back and pay attention to whats going on. Noticed last week that BG was undefeated and that is what led me to search for the school's athletic site. Not knowing the entire time that as soon as the page opened my heart would be broken.

I know how hard college athletes push themselves and I know how much they love the sports they play. Your daughter had the heart and determination to compete at the collegiate level. Unfortunate things sometimes occur and no one has any answers for them. I want you guys to know that it was because of you that she made it as far as she did. I have heard of things like this happenning several times through the last few years, but you must understand that things like this can not be prevented. Athletes don't know limits. They compete and give everything they have. Thats why we wake up to lift weights at 5am, and thats why we run until we can't even stand up anymore. We want to be the best at what we do.

When I was in high school, one of my best friends who was a state champion wrestler went in for orthoscopic surgery, just a 1ittle incision. He never woke up. I was so proud of his parents for understanding that it was just his time. He accomplished everything. He was loved by his family, his friends, his teachers, he was a very successful athlete, and most importantly he was a good person. He treated everyone else better than he ever expected to be treated. No matter what, even if he knew that in return, he would not receive the same treatment. I hope I was able to help you in some way. I will keep Leslie in my thoughts and even though I never knew her, she will be an inspiration to me for a time to come.

-Jared

Your daughter's tragic passing reminds us all to live each day to the fullest. To enjoy and appreciate what we have each and every day. To not put off till tomarrow a kind gesture or act of compassion towards another. I'm sure her passing will touch the hearts and emotions of many students throughout the year.
