RALEIGH, North Carolina - On Sunday the Bowling Green State University gymnastics team took third out of four in Raligh, North Carolina. The host school NC State won the meet with a score of 195.075. Mid-American Conference rivals Central Michigan finished second (191.950), followed by BGSU (190.950) and William and Mary (188.875). The Falcons were led by the spectacular performance from sophomore Breanne Guy who set a new career high in the all-around at 38.900.

"Bre did a wonderful job for us tonight," head coach Kerrie Beach said. She was however torn on her team's performance. "Our goal was to get back to the 191 rang and we did that tonight. We are still frustrated because they can not put a whole meet together."

The team opened the meet up on bars where they put up a 47.775. Guy had the team's best routine with a sixth place finish. Her score of 9.775 ties her career high. Freshman Lexi Psichopaidas posted a 9.625 shattering her old career best at 9.475. She tied teammate Jholeen Ponce for 14th. Following the bars the team marched over to the beam.

The beam had been the strongest of the four events for the Falcons last weekend; however that was not the case tonight. Queenita Gamble has continued to be the leader as she posted a 9.700. This is the third time in four meets she has posted a 9.700 or higher. Junior Katie Follett had a 9.650 tying her for eighth. Guy followed close behind in tenth with a 9.625.

Floor is usually a strength for the Orange and Brown, however will the loss of sophomore Morgan Balzer and freshman Abby Ashley the team only competed with five girls. Leader Jacque Bernhardt hit a 9.725 landing her in seventh. Guy claimed eighth with a 9.700, followed by Gamble in 14th with a 9.575.

The team wrapped up the meet on vault where they had their highest team total on the night at 48.100. Guy secured a share of the top spot with a score of 9.800. This time Bernhardt trailed her with a 9.750.

The Falcons have never been happier to return home to snowy Ohio as they host Northern Illinois on Friday, March 14. The meet will be in Anderson Arena and will begin at 7:00 p.m. They will then welcome the Wildcats of Kentucky on Saturday March 22 at 4:00 p.m.

Beach is welcoming the short week and a trip home, "we are looking to get back on our home turf and improve. I am hoping that our team can step up and get back into our rhythm. Northern is having a great year so in order to beat them we are going to have to replicate how we practice."
