Women's Golf Opens Spring Season on Friday

The Bowling Green State University women's golf team will open their Spring season on Friday (Mar. 7) at they travel out west to Rio Verde, Ariz., for the 2008 Rio Verde Intercollegiate, hosted by Western Michigan. The Falcons will be one of 18 schools to compete in the spring kickoff, and one of six schools that will be representing the Mid-American Conference. 2008 Field Course Information Falcons In The Fall Notes On Individuals Hrusovsky is second on the team with an 80.46 stroke average, also competing in all 13 rounds this past fall. She began the fall season finishing 15th at the Laker Fall Classic (157). Through 13 rounds she has carded a sub-80 round six times. The third senior, Amanda Bader has competed in just two tournaments this season with her top finish coming at the Laker Fall Classic when she went 75-87 to finish 31st. The Lima, Ohio, native has competed in 69 career rounds for the Orange and Brown. Jonkhoff, who did not compete for the Falcons this fall, is coming off a career year as a junior, finishing with an 83.23 stroke average, 3.5 strokes better than her career average heading into her junior campaign. Also seeing action this week will be sophomore Hannah Lambert and freshman Lauren Glew. Lambert is averaging 84.14 strokes per round in her second season with BGSU. Lambert's top finish came at the Brickyard Invitational where she went 85-75--160 to finish 34th. The 75 was a career-low for the Brookpark, Ohio, native. The last Falcon that will be competing at the Rio Verde will be freshman Lauren Glew. Glew was one of three Falcons to compete in all 13 rounds this past fall, finishing with an 80.62 stroke average, third-best on the team. In her first-ever tournament with the Orange and Brown she went 77-74 to finish tied for third at the Laker Fall Classic. The 74 was the lowest ever round by a Falcon freshman.
