ACHTER AND THE FALCONS:
Since arriving on BGSU's campus, Achter and the Falcons have experienced win after win after win after win and with a win at Central Michigan (Feb. 13) she and her fellow senior join an elite group of both Bowling Green and Mid-American Conference players in winning 100 games in their collegiate careers ... only six other women's groups and one men's class have accomplished the feat ... she is also a member of the only active senior class in the MAC to win at least one NCAA Tournament game and have less than 25 loses in their collegiate career ... as a junior, she was a starter on the MAC's most historic women's basketball team ... not only did that team advance to the Sweet Sixteen, but they also won 31 games; the most of any men's or women's MAC affiliate in conference history ... the only player in program history to score at least 1,450+ points and record 600+ assists ... has been named to the MAC's All-Tournament Team in each of her first three conference championship seasons ... named MAC Tournament MVP as a freshman ... numerous MAC Player of the Week honors ... averaged 27 wins per season and never saw her basketball calendar end before March 19 of any given year while with BGSU ... will graduate with a 108-23 overall record.

Achter's 32 points versus St. Bonaventure (Nov. 24) also set a new personal best for the senior; previously her highest scoring game (29 pts.) was a 77-66 win at Belmont - just six days prior ... went 15-17 from the free throw line in both games ... her Bonaventure outing made her just three points shy of tying the program record of 35 points in one game ... orchestrated her first double-digit assist night as she contributed 11 of the Falcons 18 assists in a 74-60 win over Florida Gulf Coast at the Cornell Classic ... hit a last second jumper (00:05) to send BGSU into the locker room down two on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame (Dec. 5) ... converted an `and-one' to tie the game during the second half of play ... finished the narrow loss with 20 points and a game high seven assists ... chipped in 10 helpers in a road win at Delaware (Dec. 21) ... was perfect from the floor on the final day of the Iowa State Cyclone Shootout (Dec. 30) going 6-6 from the floor, with a three point field goal and was 1-1 from the line versus UT-Martin ... finished that game with 14 pts., five assists and rebounds and four steals in 22 minutes of play ... was 11-11 from the FT line while participating in the three-day Shootout including an 8-8 night versus Hampton ... nearly double-doubled (9 p-10a) as the Falcons closed the non-conference season with a win over Chicago State to open the new year on Jan. 5 ... opening the MAC season was just short of recording another pair of double-doubles versus Akron (Jan. 9) and at Kent State (Jan. 16) with nine assists and a respective 12 and 10 points ... at Toledo (Feb. 2) dishes 13 assists while scoring 11 points and did not commit a turnover in 31 minutes of play as the Falcons posted a 30 point (71-41) victory over their rival at Savage Hall ... at the 14:55 mark in the second half of play in Mount Pleasant, Mich. An All-MAC Second-Team pick for the second consecutive season ... also named to the MAC's All-Tournament Team, for the third time in her three seasons as a Falcon ... started all 35 games for the Brown and Orange ... averaged 11.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and a team-best 5.1 assists per game ... total of 177 assists was the fourth highest in BGSU history ... earned BGSU's Playmaker-of-the-Year Award for the third consecutive season ... shot 50.0 percent from the field ... was third on the team in scoring, and also ranked third in steals, with 46 ... her 23 double-digit scoring games included a streak of 16-straight games, culminating with the NCAA second-round win over Vanderbilt ... made 133 free throws (fourth-highest seasonal total in school history) in 174 attempts (fifth in BG history) ... had four games of 20 points or more, including a 23-point performance vs. Temple and 22-point games against both Eastern Michigan and Northern Illinois ... shot a perfect 8-for-8 from the field in that Temple contest, and became the eighth player in BG history to reach 300 assists that night as well ... named the MAC's P-O-W for her performance in that TU game ... had a season-high 10 assists in home win over Delaware ... had 17 games of five assists or more, including nine helpers vs. Oklahoma State and eight against Vandy in national tourney wins ... in MAC games only, averaged 12.7 points and 4.6 helpers, shooting 51.4% from the field ... averaged 15.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.3 assists in the Falcons' three league tournament wins ... played all 40 minutes in three-straight games -- the MAC Tournament championship-game win over Ball State and the two NCAA victories ... named the MAC Player of the Week on Nov. 28 ... led the Falcons with 20 points at Notre Dame, also posting game-high totals of nine assists and five steals ... had 19 points and hit her first career three-pointer at Western Michigan ... was 8-of-11 from the floor in that game ... that WMU contest began a 16-game span, culminating with the Vanderbilt game, in which she averaged a team-high 15.6 points per game ... scored a game-high 22 points and was a perfect 10-for-10 from the free-throw line in win at Eastern Michigan ... scored 15 points and added a game-high several assists (with just one turnover) in come-from-behind win over Toledo ... tied for team honors with 18 points in regular-season win over Ball State, adding six boards and four assists ... her 22-point game at NIU came on 8-of-15 shooting ... scored a team-high 17 points, including her 1,000th career point, in the home game vs. Ohio ... became the 22nd player in BG history to reach the millennium mark, and only the eighth to do so prior to her senior year ... had 13 points and eight assists in home win over Miami to close the regular season ... had 15 points and tied for game honors with four assists in MAC Tournament quarterfinal win over Toledo ... had 12 points, a season-high seven rebounds and five assists in semifinal win over Eastern Michigan ... played 39 minutes in that game, a career-high total at the time, before playing all 40 minutes in each of the next three contests ... scored 18 points in the league tourney championship game vs. BSU, adding seven helpers and six boards ... had 14 points vs. Oklahoma State, as BGSU won an NCAA Tournament game for the first time in 18 years ... hit a key hoop late in that game, cutting through the lane, taking a pass from Ali Mann and converting a layup for a four-point lead in the final minute of play ... also had nine assists in that OSU game, and hit the second three-pointer of her career ... had 10 points and a game-high eight assists in the NCAA second-round win over Vanderbilt ... finally came out of a game with 12:45 left in the second half of the Arizona State contest ... that substitution ended a streak of consecutive minutes played at 167:15, dating to halftime of the MAC semifinal win over EMU ... averaged 12.1 ppg and shot nearly 60.0% from the field in home games ... chosen to the Preseason All-MAC Team.

Kate Elizabeth Achter was born April 30, 1986, in Oregon, Ohio ... sport enterprise major at BGSU ... daughter of Roger and Maryann Achter ... the oldest of four children ... has a pair of sisters and a brother ... father played baseball at BGSU ... has played club ball for the North Coast Hurricanes and the Roppe Rockers, helping the former team to a national ninth-place finish in 2001-02.
