Jan. 10, 2002 CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference office has announced the 2001 MAC Men's Cross Country Honor Roll, and five members of the Bowling Green State University team were among those honored. Senior Rob Glatz (3.44 grade point average/biology), juniors Nolan Fahrer (3.00/technology education) and Dave Larson (3.84/integrated social studies) and sophomores Steve Blasko (3.18/accounting) and Paul Niedzwiecki (3.08/visual communication technology) all were named to the team. Glatz and Larson each earned the honor for the second consecutive season. The MAC Honor Roll is in its third year of existence. To be eligible, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher and earn a letter for the current season. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible, as a student-athlete must have attended the institution for an entire year to qualify for the award. Additionally, the conference office has reinstituted the Academic All-MAC Team after a two-year absence, and two Falcons have been named to that squad. Glatz and Larson both are Academic All-MAC Team members for 2001. To be named to the Academic All-MAC Team, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's competitions. The Falcons finished in eighth place at the 2001 MAC Championships, and BGSU was 25th at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.
