Game #10 - Nov. 13 - at Bowling Green 35, Ball State 14
Nov. 13, 1999 BGSU improved to 4-6 overall with a road contest next week at Central Florida to close out the season. Ball State took the opening possession of the game and drove 88 yards in eight plays to score the first points of the game just 3:17 into the contest. But BG would score the next 21 points with a blocked punt late in the first quarter the key play in the game giving the Falcons a 14-7 lead, a lead they would never relinquish. Will Sullivan got credit for the blocked punt, the third of the season for the Falcons, and Matt Bunsey picked up the loose ball and ran the final 24 yards to paydirt. After Ball State closed the gap to 21-14 at the 9:20 mark of the second quarter, the Cardinals drove to the BG 12-yard line late in the quarter, but missed a 29-yard field goal attempt to get even closer before the half. The second half was all Bowling Green as they possessed the ball for 23:51 of the 30 minutes and piled up 200 yards of offense, 174 of that on the ground. Ball State did not get into BG territory in the second half with their deepesst drive ending at their own 45-yard line. Freshman Joe Alls had his second successive 100-yard day with 155 yards, a career best, on 25 carries as the Falcons piled up a season high 293 yards on the ground. Along with the punt block for a score, the Falcons defense also got into the act as defensive lineman Brandon Hicks picked up a fumble midway through the fourth quarter and rumbled 20 yards for a score.
