Started as a linebacker as a sophomore and at quarterback his last two seasons ... was played in seven games, starting the Kansas State and Marshall contests ... first collegiate action was at the end of the Ohio State game ... came in late in the second quarter of the Akron game the next week for an injured Bob Niemet, and completed 13-of-19 passes for 128 yards and one score to lead BG to a comeback 31-28 victory ... he led the Falcons on drives of 78, 74, 58, and 69 yards in the second half which resulted in 24 points, including the game-winning 69-yard drive which culminated in a field goal with 32 seconds left ... made first start the next week against Kansas State ... in the Marshall game he completed 21-of-42 passes for 293 yards.
