To email coach Rothenbuhler: trothen@bgsu.edu Troy Rothenbuhler is in his sixth season at BGSU, his second as the assistant head coach and first as the passing game coordinator. He also served as the recruiting coordinator from 2003-07. In 2007, he helped coach the wide receivers, including Freddie Barnes and his 82 catches and nine touchdowns. In 2005 and 2006 he helped coach Sean O'Drobinak and Ruben Ruiz, two main factors to the Falcon tight ends. In 2004, he saw Mitchell Crossley earn second-team All-MAC honors and saw Devon Parks emerge as one of the top young defensive linemen in the MAC. His group also helped the Falcons lead the league in turnovers forced with 25 and finish third in the nation in turnover margin. In 2003, he saw tight end Craig Jarrett became the first Falcon in more than a decade to earn Academic All-American honors. As recruiting coordinator, BGSU has forged a strong footprint in recruiting some of the top players in the state of Ohio and throughout the Midwest and southeastern United States. He came to Bowling Green in 2003 after spending 2002 as offensive coordinator at Heidelberg College. He had previously spent five years as an assistant coach at Arkansas State. During his tenure with the Indians, he coached both tight ends and receivers. A 1995 graduate of Ohio State, Rothenbuhler was a graduate assistant for the Buckeyes in 1995 and 1996 where he worked with the quarterbacks and tight ends. From 1992-94, he was a student assistant who assisted with the team's wide receivers. During his time with the Buckeyes, he worked with teams that appeared in one Rose Bowl, three Citrus Bowls and one Holiday Bowl. He is a 1989 graduate of Oregon Clay High School. Born April 10, 1971, in Oregon, Ohio, he and his wife, Amy, a Campbell native, are the parents of one daughter, Madison (8) and a son, Jake (2). |
