Miller, Jakubowski Honored by MAC

CLEVELAND, Ohio (BGSUFalcons.com) - Bowling Green State University men's basketball standouts Nate Miller and Joe Jakubowski were honored Wednesday (March 12), as the Mid-American Conference announced the 2008 All-MAC teams. Miller, a junior, was an all-league honorable-mention selection, while Jakubowski was chosen to the conference's all-freshman team.

Miller, a native of Springfield, Ohio, was a league honorable-mention choice for the second consecutive year, having been named to the squad in 2006-07, his initial campaign with the Falcons. He leads the team in scoring, averaging 13.3 points per game. Miller has 22 double-digit scoring games this year to date, including five games of 20 points or more, to lead the Falcons in both categories.

Miller also paces the Falcons in steals (1.5 spg), and is second on the squad in both rebounding (6.4 rpg) and assists (2.7 apg). Miller led the team in scoring in MAC games only (13.3 ppg), and tied for the BG assists lead (3.0 apg) vs. conference foes.

Jakubowski, who hails from Rossford, Ohio, is averaging 7.9 points per game to rank fourth on the team. He leads the Brown and Orange in assists, with 3.1 per outing, and is second on the squad with 33 three-point field goals made.

Jakubowski had 8.3 ppg and tied Miller for the assists lead (3.0 apg) in MAC games only. Overall, Jakubowski paces all MAC freshmen in both assists and assist/turnover ratio this season to date.

Miller, Jakubowski and the Falcons are in Cleveland, preparing for a first-round game in the First Energy MAC Tournament. Head coach Louis Orr's club, the ninth seed for the tourney, will take on eighth-seeded Toledo on Wednesday (March 12), in a game scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at Quicken Loans Arena.
