Ohio native Andy Moore recently completed his first season on the Bowling Green State University men's basketball staff. Moore was named an assistant coach by Falcon head coach Louis Orr in May of 2007. In his first season with the Falcons, Moore helped the team to a 13-17 record. BGSU more than doubled the MAC win total from the previous season, going 7-9 in conference play in 2007-08 after a 3-13 league mark the previous winter. Those seven MAC wins included victories over the teams picked to finish first, second and third in the East Division in the 2007-08 preseason poll. One of those wins came over Kent State, the eventual MAC champion and a nationally-ranked team at the time, in the Falcons' final home game on March 1, 2008. Moore came to BGSU after spending five years on the staff at the University of Michigan. While with the Wolverines, he spent four years as an assistant coach and one season as the Director of Basketball Operations. During his tenure in Ann Arbor, Michigan posted three 20-win seasons and had an overall record of 98-65 in the five seasons. The Wolverines won the postseason NIT title in 2004 and advanced to that tournament's championship game in '06. Before making the short move to Ann Arbor, Moore spent two years as the Director of Basketball Operations at Eastern Michigan University (2000-02), where he worked with current BGSU assistant LaMonta Stone. His resume also includes four years at California University of Pennsylvania (1996-2000). After serving as an assistant coach for his first three years, he was promoted to assistant head coach for the 1999-2000 season. Moore began his coaching career at Mt. Vernon High School, where he was an assistant coach for the varsity boys team (1992-94). He then moved on to Kenyon (Ohio) College, where he served as an assistant men's basketball coach and head men's golf coach (1994-96). Moore is a 1992 graduate of Muskingum College, where he was named first-team All-American and Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Year as a senior in 1991-92. He was a three-time All-OAC selection and finished his career as the school's all-time scoring leader. Moore was inducted into Muskingum's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999. Moore and his wife, Stephanie, reside in Michigan.
