FACILITY INFORMATION
The Mel Brodt Cross Country course is located on the Forrest Creason Golf Course on the campus of Bowling Green State University. The majority of the course is flat with one moderate size hill that is located at the end of the second mile and again in between miles 4 and 5. The course consists of a large 5K loop which is run through twice for the 10k course and once for the 6K course. The starting line is approximately 200' wide with the first turn coming at the 800m mark. The narrowest spot of the course comes after the second turn approximately ¾ of a mile into the race. The third mile marker is near center field of the baseball field and is where the 10k and the 6k courses go their separate ways. The 6k course loops around the baseball field and heads to the finish line while the 10k course continues the second loop of the course. The second loop is a bit shorter then the first. After mile five the course turn in between fairways 7 and 8 and heads toward the softball field. The course then loops around the softball field and heads to the finishing line. Both courses finish the same finishes. The course narrows a bit to cross a bridge with approximately 500m left in the race. Then there is a slight right turn with approximately 200m left before the finish line.

GENERAL INFORMATION
* There will be a lead vehicle for each race. A trainer's cart will also follow behind each race.
* At the conclusion of the men’s race, the top twenty-five individuals and top two teams from both the men’s and women’s races will be honored. Coaches please have your athletes available for this announcement and recognition. The recognition ceremony will take place just in front of the Golf Course Clubhouse, which is located on the North side of the Golf Course near the 1 mile mark.
The chip timing system being used this year is a little different from what you are used to using. The "chip" is built into the bib number worn on the chest. You will be given a chest number with the chip built into it and also a hip number to be worn on the hip as a backup for the camera system to determine placing in case of a malfunction. IMPORTANT FOR ALL ATHLETES: DO NOT WRINKLE THE CHEST BIB NUMBER. Alot of athletes like to crumple up the number to make it more flexible, DO NOT DO THIS. The numbers are pretty tough but you can damage the wire that makes up the chip. If the wire gets damaged you will not be picked up at the finishline and it will take longer for us to get results. Numbers will be given out on the morning of the race at the timing trailer to avoid getting the numbers damaged the night before. If you would like to test your number before the race starts just let us know and we will let you walk through the finishline with your number on and it will tell you that you are ready to go. Coaches, any numbers you do not use if you could put them back into your packet and return them to the trailer that would be helpful as to how many runners we have start a race. Also, last note, the bib numbers are disposable so do not worry about turning them back in after the race unless you want to.
