BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (BGSUFalcons.com) - Each week, Bowling Green State University Assistant Vice President/Director of Athletics Greg Christopher answers a few of the many questions that have been submitted to BGSUFalcons.com. Here is the latest installment ...

Q: I was looking forward to taking in a high school playoff game or two at The Doyt this past season and was disappointed when that never materialized. Was it a matter of the numbers not adding up financially or was there more to it than that?
Doug in Ottawa

A: We were hoping for one or more playoff games at BGSU, but things didn't work out in 2007. The reasons are two-fold. First, the OHSAA seems to give priority to sites that have hosted before, which resulted in a few regional high school fields being selected over The Doyt. Second, the geography of playoff opponents didn't fall the right way with game match-ups. Twice we were slated for games if certain schools won, but their victorious opponents pushed the subsequent games into other venues.

Looking ahead to 2008, we hope to host high school games again. The feedback we received from the high schools that played during the regular season was very positive. For the playoffs, we will again be prepared for and actively seek playoff games.

Q: Do we plan to continue having at least one double header each year for men's and women's basketball?
Brandon in Bowling Green

A: The double headers this year are based more on conference scheduling needs versus our design. It's really a year-to-year situation based on available dates, opponents and other events.

There are pros and cons to double headers, so we'll sit down each summer with the basketball schedules and lay out what works best for that specific season.
