Sid Sink Position: Assistant A.D.-Compliance

Sid Sink is in his ninth year as an Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Certification at BGSU. His current duties involve managing the compliance program for the athletic department which includes interpreting NCAA legislation, while maintaining compliance with MAC and NCAA rules. He also maintains NCAA squad lists for all 18 varsity sports, serves as a liaison with the NCAA clearinghouse, and works closely with the BGSU Bursar's office, the registrar's office, and the faculty athletic representative on all eligibility and financial aid issues.

Prior to his current appointment, Sink served as the men's track and field and cross country head coach as well as coordinator of the running programs. He spent 13 years as the head men's track coach and 14 years at the helm of the men's cross country program. He also served as the women's cross country coach from 1978 to 1989. During his coaching tenure, Sink led the women's cross country program to four Mid-American Conference titles (1980-83) and two other top-three finishes. He was selected MAC Coach of the Year in each of the four seasons the Falcons captured the MAC Championship. He was also named the MAC Coach of the Year following the 1995 men's cross country season in which BG captured the league title, the first for the program since 1969 when Sink was an All-American member of the squad.

As an athlete at Bowling Green, few can match the Greenville, Ohio, native's accomplishments. He earned 10 All-American honors, which is more than any other athlete in the University's history. In his career (1968-72), Sink was a seven-time track All-American. He was the NCAA champion in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in both 1970 and 1971. As a cross country runner, he was a three-time All-American.

A 1976 inductee into the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame, Sink holds one cross country school record, three indoor track records, and three outdoor track records. He earned his bachelor's degree in Education from BGSU in 1972 and his master's degree in physical education in 1973.
